Bojan is currently on a season-long loan with Frank de Boer’s side who recently wrapped up their fourth consecutive Eredivisie title after last Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Heracles.
The 23-year-old forward still has a year left on his contract at Barcelona but his future remains in doubt after being loaned out for the last three seasons. Liverpool made an enquiry about the player’s availability last season but Barsa preferred to loan the player to Ajax due to their close working relationship with former players Marc Overmars, director of football, and de Boer in charge of the first team. Bojan will return to the Catalan club when his loan ends but is unlikely to be offered the chance to stay in the first team set up, according to Mundo Deportivo. Luis Enrique is reportedly set to be appointed as the new manager and the Spaniard managed him at his first loan spell with AS Roma.
However, the Spaniard is not counting on the striker for his first team plans and will have to look for a new club, which could come as welcome news for Liverpool who have pursued the player in the past.
