Liverpool target Javier Mascherano has failed to rule out a move away from Barcelona with him admitting he plans to hold talks with the club soon. Napoli have been chasing the former Reds star as they look to bolster their squad for next season’s Champions League. The Argentine fuelled speculation after saying he could move away from Barca, though new boss Luis Enrique is considering trying to keep the midfielder. Mascherano, who joined Barcelona in 2010 from Liverpool, has been played as a centre-back in recent seasons and is keen to perform in his natural position again where Napoli would deploy him.“There is neither an ‘addio’ nor an ‘arrivederci’,” Mascherano told reporters.“At the right time we will talk about everything, and that time has not yet come. I must think only of the national team.”The Gazetta dello Sport report Mascherano’s meeting with Barcelona will take place in the next few days. Mascherano has won two La Liga titles, one Champions League, one Copa del Rey, one Uefa Super Cup, two Spanish Super Cups and one Fifa Club World Cup at Barcelona.
