Liverpool are stepping up their pursuit of Granada’s Guilherme Siqueira as they look to beat Real Madrid to the chase of the talented full-back. Real Madrid were rumoured to have sealed a deal to land the Brazilian left-back at the end of the season but the reports have since been refuted by his parent club Granada. Siqueira is currently on loan at Benfica and the president of Granada has admitted that the Portuguese club have first option over the player as part of the loan agreement. There are clubs interested but that doesn’t matter. We have a big respect for Benfica at the moment, Pina told Radio Renascenca. Siqueira made a loan switch to Benfica last summer at a cost of 1million with an agreed fee in the region of 6.5million. Nevertheless, Fichajes claim that Liverpool are ready to offer a bid to the Spanish club regardless of Benfica’s agreement in the hope that the player will be pressured into requesting a move to the English club.
