The 21-year-old has been one of Liverpool’s star performers in the club’s hugely impressive campaign which sees them still in with a chance of winning the league going into the last week of the season. Coutinho was signed from Inter Milan for 8.8million in January 2013 in what is now considered a bargain deal after flourishing under the guidance of Brendan Rodgers. For the Brazilian national team, Coutinho has made just one appearance which came back in 2010 against Iran. Under current boss Luiz Felipe Scolari, the talented midfielder has yet to be given a chance and with the squad for the World Cup set to be announced on Wednesday, it is believed that Coutinho will not be given the nod. Among those who have been confirmed for the squad who feature in the positions which he is known to operate are Chelsea duo Willian and Oscar as well as Tottenham’s Paulinho.
