Liverpool could be interested in signing Manchester City right-back Micah Richards this summer, FootballDirectNews.com understands.
The Reds are in need of defensive reinforcements after some shaky displays at the back this season, which have been somewhat masked by their in-form attacking players helping them to challenge for the Premier League title.

Manager Brendan Rodgers has reportedly looked at a number of new players in various defensive positions, and could now make Richards one of his top targets due to his ability to play either at right-back or in the middle.
The 25-year-old is currently out of favour at the Etihad Stadium, having made just 17 appearances in the last two seasons after falling behind Pablo Zabaleta in the pecking order. Richards has previously been regarded as one of the most promising young defenders in the country, though he has been noted for his inconsistency over the years, and may be in need of a fresh start at a new club. This has also seen Tottenham Hotspur linked with him in recent months. With some doubt over the future of Glen Johnson at Anfield, Richards could be brought in primarily with the view to replacing his former England international in the near future, though he could also prove an upgrade on the likes of Daniel Agger and Martin Skrtel in the centre.
