Liverpool and Arsenal target Mathieu Valbuena will be allowed to leave Olympique de Marseille in the summer. It is being reported in La Provence thatFrench midfielder Valbuena will be allowed to leave Marseille at the end of the season after the emergence of Dimitri Payet and Florian Thauvin. Thauvin, 21, and Payet, 26, were signed last summer from Lille for a combined fee of around 22 million and have impressed everyone at the club. Their form has led to rumours Valbuena will depart in the next transfer window with plenty of suitors waiting to take advantage. Both the Reds and the Gunners were looking at Valbuena in January and they are expected to be back in for the Frenchman in the summer. Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is looking to add players with Champions League experience to his squad as the Reds look almost certain to return to the competition next season. Meanwhile, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is expected to go big in the summer transfer window as he endeavours to close the gap further on the top teams in the Premier League.
