Hellas Verona’s Juan Iturbe has been given a market value of 25m by parent club Porto, following interest from the likes of Liverpool. Small, capable of creating and scoring, Argentine – Juan Iturbe has all the traits of Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, hence his newly dubbed nickname – The New Messi. His performances whilst on loan with Italian side Verona this season have seen the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur to show interest, whilst rumours of making his move to Verona a permanent one have also gained ground. However it now seems that Porto have other plans after La Stampa released news that the Primiera Liga side informed interested parties that his value is 25m, promptly ending Verona’s interest. Iturbe joined Verona last summer on loan from Porto, having joined the Portuguese side in 2010 from Cerro Porteno. He has represented Argentina at U20 level.
