Whilst the Reds have often been linked with another Real Madrid full-back – Fabio Coentrao, it is now understood that boss Brendan Rodgers has made Brazilian Marcelo, a summer transfer target. The former Fluminense star has been in impressive form for Madrid over recent seasons but question marks have crept in about his attitude and performances of late, citing a possible summer exit as coach Carlo Ancelotti plans to bring in his own brand of players. Those links have led many European clubs to show interest, with the likes of AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus and Liverpool all credited.
