Liverpool could face competition for the signing of unsettled Roma winger Adem Ljajic, FootballDirectNews.com understands.
The Serbian international only just signed for the Italian giants this season, arriving from Fiorentina after being linked with a whole host of top clubs, though he has struggled to replicate his best form at the Stadio Olimpico.
It is now thought that Ljajic could be made available for transfer for the right price in the summer, with Liverpool and Manchester United reportedly keen to bring him to the Premier League. Both sides could do with strengthening their midfield options, although Ljajic’s potential availability also looks to have alerted Bundesliga pair Borussia Dortmund and Schalke. Dortmund are set to lose Robert Lewandowski in the summer and, after also losing Mario Goetze at the end of last season, are keen to bring in new attacking players, with United playmaker Shinji Kagawa also emerging as a target in recent months. Schalke, on the other hand, could also be forced into the market if they lose star youngster Julian Draxler, who has continually been linked with moves to bigger clubs such as Arsenal and Bayern Munich, with Ljajic now emerging as a good candidate to replace him at the club.
