Both Spurs and Liverpool have had problems in the left-back position and therefore are stepping up their interest to fill the void in the summer transfer window. Erkin has been in superb form for Fenerbahce this season, contributing with two goals and 11 assists in 19 Turkish Super League matches. He was signed in 2007 by CSKA Moscow for 3.5million, from where he was loaned to Galatasaray two seasons later and was then signed on a permanent basis for 1.6million by Fenerbahce in 2010. Erkin can also operate on the left side of midfield due to his pace, dribbling and crossing ability.
