Midfielder Frank Lampard has several offers from the MLS after he was officially released by Chelsea. Chelsea submitted their retained list to the Premier League and among the names not retained by the Blues was Lampard, however, it is understood that manager Jose Mourinho wants to tie down the England midfielder to a new one-year deal. Full-back Ashley Cole has not been offered a new contract at Stamford Bridge while captain John Terry has signed a new one-year contract at Chelsea, despite rumours that he would be among those released by the club. While Chelsea are believed to be considering a new deal for Lampard, a number of MLS sides have notified the England international of their interest and are willing to make the 35-year-old one of the highest paid players in the North American league. Should Lampard opt to move to the MLS, then he will leave Chelsea after 13 years at the club in which time he has made 648 appearances, scoring 211 goals – making him the club’s all-time leading scorer.
