Serie A champions Juventus have already opened talks with Manchester United in their bid to sign Portuguese winger Nani. Juve’s interest in the player has been known for some time but Italian newspaper Gazzetto dello Sport are now reporting talks are underway between all parties and United are keen for the deal to go through. Nani only signed a new five-year contract at Old Trafford in September as it looked like the now sacked David Moyes wanted to give the player more of a regular role in the side having been out of favour under previous boss Sir Alex Ferguson.
However, the 27-year-old has started just nine games in all competitions this campaign, scoring just one goal, and the Red Devils are now happy to cash in on a player that simply cannot find the sparkling form of the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons. In those campaigns he hit double figures for goals and assists, suggesting he was finally adding an end product to his otherwise fine attacking play.

But after two years of flattering to deceive, United want to free up some funds for what is sure to be an expensive recruitment drive this summer.
