Inter Milan will step-up their interest in Manchester City hitman Alvaro Negredo with the club determined to sign him before the World Cup. Inter are set to undergo a massive rebuilding job and wanting a leading striker to boost their attack. Negredo, who only arrived at the Etihad last summer from Sevilla for 20m, has enjoyed a fine first season in England with the Spaniard bagging 23 goals in all competitions – though he failed to score in the final four months. Inter have been looking at a variety of options including Negredo’s teammate Edin Dzeko and Chelsea flop Fernando Torres. City may be forced to sell first-team players if they are hit by Uefa sanctions and Inter believe that could play into their hands with them ready to step-up their efforts for Negredo, European football sources have revealed.
