Inter Milan are looking into the possibility of loaning Fernando Torres form Chelsea next season rather than buying.
The Italian club are searching Europe for a new striker and have identified several targets which also include Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko and Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata. According to Tuttosport, Inter manager Walter Mazzarri would prefer Bosnian Dzeko, but it seems that the good relationship between Chelsea and the San Siro outfit will work in the Italians favour. Chelsea are expected to sign a high-profile striker this summer with the favourite being Atletico Madrid’s Diego Costa.
That will leave British record transfer holder Torres scratching around for playing time alongside Samuel Eto’o and Demba Ba.
Although Torres is believed to prefer a return to Spain, a move to Inter remains appealing, especially on loan. The only stumbing blocked is the 13 million salary that the Spaniard recieves.
Torres has struggled to justify the 50 million transfer fee Chelsea paid Liverpool in January 2011. The 29-year-old has scored 43 goals in 163 appearances for the Blues and his future at the club looks set to end this summer.
