Inter Milan are interested in signing young Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto, according to Fichajes.net. The 22-year-old is a highly regarded prospect at the Nou Camp, but faces a difficult task of breaking into the Barcelona first-team any time soon with so much high quality competition in the Catalan giants’ squad. Roberto has been linked with the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur in the past, and looks likely to be on the move this summer as he seeks to play more regular first-team football. Inter could now be his destination as the Italian giants plan to bring in a number of new faces this summer with the backing of wealthy new owner Erick Thohir. The San Siro outfit were also handed the boost that key player Fredy Guarin signed a new contract with the club, though with some doubts over the future of Argentine playmaker Ricardo Alvarez, a midfielder remains a priority for Walter Mazzarri’s side. Roberto has made 36 appearances for the senior Barcelona side in total, making his debut back in the 2010/11 season.
