Inter Milan could rival Arsenal for the signing of Real Madrid right-back Daniel Carvajal, FootballDirectNews.com understands.
The Italian giants are known to be on the lookout for defensive reinforcements this summer, with Barcelona’s Martin Montoya believed to be another of their main targets.
However, with recent news that Real Madrid are also unconvinced by their current options in that position and looking to sign Porto star Danilo da Silva, Inter may look to join Arsenal in moving for Carvajal in the next transfer window.
The 22-year-old had a highly impressive campaign with Bayer Leverkusen last season, but has failed to replicate his form since signing for Madrid, with Carlo Ancelotti possibly ready to move him on at the end of this campaign. Arsenal are eyeing Carvajal as a possible replacement for Bacary Sagna, but Inter could provide stern competition for his signature now.

My understanding is that Inter Milan would be our main rivals for Carvajal, an Arsenal insider explained. “Like us, they’re looking for a right-back and he’s a promising option as Real might be ready to let him go. “
