Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is keen to land either Schalke 04 midfielder Julian Draxler or or former player Cesc Fabregas as his main summer signing. The Gunners boss has long been an admirer of Draxler but failed in repeated attempts to sign him – most recently in January. Fabregas has been told he can leave Barcelona – the club he joined Arsenal from – if the 30 million valuation has been met. A source told [football] direct news that Wenger was more keen on Draxler and that part of the reason he has showed interest in Fabregas is “he does not want Fabregas to join a Premier League rival”. Manchester United tried to sign Fabregas last season under previous manager, David Moyes.
