Arsenal continue to be linked to a deal for Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas.
The Spanish number one has been linked with the Gunners ever since compatriot and Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla said he would love welcome his international teammate to the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal will likely lose number two stopper Lukasz Fabianski at the end of the season. The Polish keeper is out of contract and has been linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund.
There are also doubts about Wojciech Szczesny and whether he is consistent enough to be the number one in a top four side.
That, along with Cazorla’s comments, has led to speculation Casillas could soon be wearing the red and white of Arsenal. According to a report on Spanish source Frichajes. net, Real Madrid would be willing to let Casillas leave for a fee of around 20 million.
That figure will be enough to frighten off Gunners boss Arsene Wenger who would be reluctant to pay that sort of money for a 32-year-old. Casillas has a contract at Madrid until 2017, but with Diego Lopez keeping him out of the side the stopper could be persuaded to leave a club he has played for his entire career.
