Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard has backed former Toffees manager David Moyes to be a success at Manchester United – if the board gives him enough time to revive the champions’ fortunes.
The Red Devils are still smarting from last night’s 3-0 derby loss to rivals City at Old Trafford, the same scoreline by which they surrendered to Liverpool nine days earlier.

Moyes faces an almost impossible task to secure Champions League qualification via a top-four finish in the league, and also saw his side exit both domestic cup competitions.
However, Howard thinks the Scot will overcome his current difficulties if directors keep the faith.
He told Sky Sports News: “I see him as someone who will come through this, given time. I think all managers need time, not just David Moyes. “It is ludicrous when managers are hired in the Premier League but not given the time. “A team needs to mirror the image of its manager and it takes 18 months at least. ”Watch Arsenal v Man City Saturday or Liverpool v Tottenham Hotspur Sunday.
