Liverpool full-back Jose Enrique has backed captain Steven Gerrard to enter management when he retires from playing. Enrique made the move to Liverpool from Newcastle United in 2011 and has spent three years playing alongside Gerrard, who has captained the Reds since 2003. Gerrard has spent the entirety of his career at the Merseyside club, since joining the youth academy in 1987, and the midfielder has won almost everything on offer to him at club level with Liverpool, with a league title the only honour that eludes him. The 33-year-old has been earmarked by many as a possible future manager and Enrique is among those who believes that Gerrard would be successful if he entered management, while also believing that defender Kolo Toure could also be a success if he made the transition. When asked by a fan on Twitter as part of a Q&A through Liverpool’s official account, Enrique wrote: “Steven Gerrard and Kolo Toure, because of the respect we have for them and they are motivating all the time.”Read more Liverpool transfer news.
