Former Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli is edging closer to an exit from AC Milan after being left on the bench on Sunday by coach Clarence Seedorf.
The former Citizen had an initially excellent start to his career at boyhood club Milan, scoring 12 times last season after his January move from the Premier League.
He has scored 13 times so far this season but his form of late has meant he has come in for criticism from several quarters. That includes former boss Roberto Mancini who said he needs to get back to his best. New Milan boss Seedorf left Balotelli on the bench on Sunday as his team drew 1-1 with Fiorentina. The Dutchman was considered by many to be one of the last supporters of the controversial Italian.
However, Tuttosport claim that Seedorf’s decision to drop the 23-year-old striker for Sunday’s match has pushed Balotelli closer to an exit. Balotelli had been earmarked as a potential summer signing for Chelsea, but Blues boss Jose Mourinho recently distanced himself from any such move.
