Former Liverpool and Real Madrid defender Alvaro Arbeloa has been offered a deal with Italian side Napoli and looks set to join his former boss Rafa Benitez. The 31-year-old defender has seemingly lost his place in the Madrid starting eleven, following niggling injuries and the good form of youngster Daniel Carvajal, who has been called up to Spain’s World Cup squad. Arbeloa, who was initially signed by Benitez for Liverpool back in 2007, would welcome a move to secure first team football and join his former boss. And, it is understood by Italian media Il Mattino that a contract of 3m per season for three years has been offered to the former Liverpool man. Another former Reds player Pepe Reina, who is on loan with Napoli, could also remain in Naples after moves continue to be made to secure the keeper on a permanent basis.
