Former Barcelona defender Andreu Fontas has said that he ‘would love’ to beat Real Madrid this weekend.
The Spanish centre-back called time on his career with Barcelona last summer after signing on a permanent deal with Celta Vigo, although talks of a potential return to the Camp Nou have been heard. And, Fontas who will come up against the Catalan side’s bitter rivals and title contendors Real Madrid this weekend, could have play a big part in helping his former club to another league title. I do not want to ruin anyone’s chances of winning the title, Fontas told reporters today.

“But, for us to finish in the top half of the table would be the icing on the cake of our season. So I would love to win.

Madrid will come with desire to play a good match to get their result out of their system. Also, they will want to give themselves a chance to take advantage in case Atletico or Barcelona slip up. Real Madrid currently sit third in the table and must rely on the results of Atletico Madrid and Barcelona if they are to win the title.
