Chelsea turned in a faultless display that frustrated Liverpool as the Blues ran out 2-0 winners, according to Reds legend Graeme Souness.  Chelsea overcame the odds to dent Liverpool’s title hopes and give the initiative back to Manchester City, who can now overtake the Anfield club on goal average if they win their two games in hand. Chelsea, meanwhile, are now just two points off Liverpool with two games remaining – putting them firmly back in the frame for the title.
The west Londoners took the lead just before half-time when a horrific mistake from Steven Gerrard let in Demba ba who ran clean through on goal after the England star had slipped over. Jose Mourinho’s side wrapped up the three points in the dying seconds as Liverpool piled everyone forward, with Fernando Torres running from the half-way line before unselfishly passing to Willian to knock the ball into an empty net. And Souness says he was surprised to see Liverpool lose but was impressed by Chelsea’s performance. It’s no longer in liverpool’s hands, it’s down to City now, he told Sky Sports.
“Chelsea were faultless in their game plan and turned in a fantastic performance that frustrated Liverpool. ”
