Colombian superstar Falcao hopes to see Manchester City target Victor Valdes with him at AS Monaco next campaign. City are thought to be after FC Barcelona goalkeeper as the Spaniard is set to leave the Catalans on a free transfer in the summer. Any move for Valdes has been put in doubt recently due to a serious knee injury that will keep him out for around seven months. Nevertheless, he would still be eligible to move as a free agent whenever he returns to fitness.
The Colombian striker suffered a similar injury which has put his own World Cup appearance in doubt and wished Valdes a speedy recovery.
“It was very sad. I would not wish upon any professional footballer what I am going through. Victor will recuperate and return to be his usual self,” he told Marca.
When asked about the rumours linking Valdes to his current club, Falcao admitted that it has been spoken of and that he expects to see him at the club when he returns from injury.
“It has been spoken of for a while about his arrival at the club, before they even signed me. It would be a very important signing for us, and from now until six months we expect him there (in Monaco). ”
