In an exclusive interview with FootballDirectNews.com, Holland midfielder Wesley Sneijder has claimed the best footballers on the planet want to play under new Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal.
The Galatasaray playmaker, who is part of van Gaal’s Netherlands squad for this summer’s World Cup, believes Red Devils fans can expect one of the most exciting summer transfer windows in club history now the 62-year-old has been appointed.
He is the permanent successor to David Moyes, who was dismissed in April, and has penned a three-year contract at Old Trafford, where he will start work upon the conclusion of Holland’s campaign in Brazil. Sneijder told FDN: “Manchester United have a big advantage that the best players in the world want to play for Louis (Van Gaal) and him being coach will make them even more attractive as a club to players. “He has obviously coached some of the best players in the world in the jobs he has had – and it is only natural that he would be looking to recruit players he has worked with in the past. “Manchester United have to back him in the transfer market – they need some big signings. If they do give him the funds needed – I am sure it will be one of the most exciting summers in the history of United. ”
