Former England international Stan Collymore believes Swansea City winger Nathan Dyer is more deserving of an England call-up than Sunderland wideman Adam Johnson. The ex-Liverpool and Aston Villa hitman was impressed by Dyer’s energetic display in last night’s 0-0 draw with Napoli in the Europa League and insists the 26-year-old has been producing frequently good performances in two consecutive campaigns.googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(“div-gpt-ad-1389116196215-0”); });Collymore added that Black Cats star Johnson, whose form has improved considerably since the turn of the year, has only put in a handful of impressive displays and remains below Dyer in the pecking order. The Swansea star has never played for his country, while Johnson, who is the same age and was named Premier League Player of the Month for January, has turned out for the Three Lions on 11 occasions. Collymore said on Twitter: “If Adam Johnson warrants England consideration for 4 good games this season, then Nathan Dyer does for 2+ very consistent seasons.”Read more Sunderland transfer news.
