Ex-Chelsea star Hernan Crespo has revealed that John Terry was the best player he played with while he was at the club.
The Blues captain has been one of the club’s star performers this season with him putting in another impressive performance in last night’s dramatic comeback win in the Champions League quarter-final against Paris Saint Germain.
The Blues were heading out to big spending French side Paris Saint Germain before Jose Mourinho’s side grabbed a late goal from outcast Demba Ba – giving the Londoners a 2-0 lead on the night – which took them through on the away goals rule after the first leg had ended 3-1 to PSG in France last week.
The victory saw Chelsea go through to the semi-finals with them joined by Real Madrid who fended off a spirited effort from Borussia Dortmund, while Bayern and Barcelona could join the pair tonight. And Crespo believes Terry has been a big reason for the club’s success over the years. “He’s the best player I’ve played with at Chelsea. Deserves to be the captain,” he wrote on Twitter.
