Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is hopeful of reaching the Champions League final and does not feel that that playing the second-leg of the semi-final away will be decisive.
The Spanish giants have been drawn against current holders of the Champions League, Bayern Munich, and will have to face the Bavarians away in the second-leg, which is traditionally unfavourable.
However, despite being wary of his opponents, the former Chelsea boss is confident of getting past Bayern in the semis. “Bayern has individual and collective quality, Guardiola is one of the best managers in the world. I think that it is going to be a great tie. I do not think it will be key to play the second game away from home,” he told reporters at the Santiago Bernabeu. Real Madrid were heavily criticised for their 2-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in the previous round, but Ancelotti feels that the fans need to get behind the team and look on the positive side of things. “We have great enthusiasm and motivation because it’s been a while now that Madrid has not been fighting for everything. ”
