Everton defender Phil Jagielka will take no part in England’s friendly with Denmark on Wednesday after being ruled out with a hamstring injury. Toffees manager Roberto Martinez revealed the injury at his weekly press conference ahead of the weekend’s clash with in-form West Ham.googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(“div-gpt-ad-1389116196215-0”); });Martinez said that Jagielka has felt his hamstring over the last couple days during training, leading the 31-year-old to missing the visit of the Hammers on Saturday. With Roy Hodgson set to name his final England squad before he selects his preliminary World Cup squad in May, it means the former Sheffield United man will not be given the opportunity to impress on the international stage prior to that selection. It also leaves the England manager with more room to select other possibilities in his squad, with the likes of Manchester City’s Joleon Lescott and Cardff City’s Steven Caulker on the fringes of the international set-up.
