Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis has said that his future with the Ligue 1 side could yet change, despite reports of a summer exit. The French striker was all-but ready to leave the Ligue 1 side this summer with the likes of Arsenal, Juventus and Everton interested in offering a contract. Gomis is free to leave Lyon this summer as he sees his current deal with the club expire in June and the latter of those interested teams – Everton have maintained their interest as they seek a replacement for Romelu Lukaku. However, the 28-year-old’s words to French press have seen his circumstances change and talk of a new contract extension gain pace. I have never closed the door. Extending is still a possibility. I am far from gone. We will look at what is best for my progress. I just want to play and be happy.”Gomis has scored 12 Ligue 1 goals this season in 27 appearances.
