Edin Dzeko’s proposed move to Borussia Dortmund is off after the German side confirmed the signing of Adrian Ramos from Hertha Berlin. Last year’s Champions League runners up were heavily linked with a move for the Manchester City’s striker as a replacement for Bayern Munich-bound Robert Lewandowski. Dzeko was a top-target due to his reputation in German football where he spent four years, winning the league with Wolfsburg and scoring 66 goals. However, any deal for the Bosnian front man is thought to be off as Dortmund announced the signing of Colombian striker Adrian Ramos on a four-year deal. Dzeko was believed to have been open to a return to Germany but his wage demands were out of Dortmund’s budget. Ramos is having an excellent campaign with Hertha as he sits joint second in the scoring charts with 16 goals, one behind Lewandowski. The Colombian stated his intent to play Champions League football, something that looks guaranteed for Dortmund next season as they lie in second place.
