Borussia Dortmund insist they will not be letting Chelsea target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leave this summer, according to Kicker.
The 24-year-old only joined the German giants from Ligue 1 side Saint-Etienne last summer, and has impressed in his debut season with the club, scoring 16 goals playing mostly on the flanks.
The versatile attacker has been linked with a host of top clubs around Europe in the past, and it has recently been suggested that he could be on his way out of Dortmund after just one season, with Chelsea and Manchester United linked as admirers of his.
However, Dortmund’s Sporting Director Michael Zorc has moved to put these rumours to bed, saying simply “Why would we do that?” when asked about the potetial sale in an interview. Aubameyang has a contract with Dortmund until 2018, and the club will be desperate to avoid losing more of their best players after Mario Goetze and Robert Lewandowski have both left the club for their rivals Bayern Munich in the space of a year. Another of the team’s star players, Marco Reus, has also been linked strongly with a switch to Barcelona in recent times.
