However, Dortmund are in the market for new signings in that position as they face the possible departure of key playmaker Marco Reus this summer, with the 24-year-old being linked with a move to Barcelona. The move for Meyer would no doubt be controversial with Dortmund and Schalke’s long-standing rivalry, but a German football insider believes Jurgen Klopp is determined to bring the talented youngster in.
