Former Chelsea star Marcel Desailly has backed his old club to advance to the Champions League semi-final, believing their tie against Paris Saint-Germain will be decided in France. Jose Mourinho’s Blues takes on Laurent Blanc’s side in the quarter-final, with the Ligue 1 leaders looking to go one better than their last-eight appearance last season, where they lost to Barcelona.
The first-leg takes place in Paris this week and Desailly, who won the FA Cup in his six years at Stamford Bridge between 1998 and 2004, thinks if Chelsea get a result, PSG will struggle in London.
He told talkSPORT: “PSG really want the Champions League – it will be a tough tie. “The decision will be made in Paris – if Chelsea manage to score or win over there I do not see PSG coming back at Stamford Bridge. ”The French side are in pole position to claim their second consecutive Ligue 1 title, sitting 13 points clear of Monaco, while Chelsea’s title chances took a blow yesterday following a 1-0 defeat at Crystal Palace.

Mourinho is bidding to win his third Champions League title, having previously won the competition with Porto and Inter Milan.
