The Croatian star’s position has been in doubt since the club announced the summer arrival of Robert Lewandowski from Borussia Dortmund in January. Mandzukic has had another prolific campaign for Bayern, scoring 27 goals in 50 matches. 18 of those were in the Bundesliga where he finished runner up in the scorers chart, ironically, to Lewandowski who scored 20. His time at the league champions is almost certainly over with Bayern as Guardiola has reportedly already wished him well in his next club.“I wish you good luck in your next team,” Guardiola reportedly said to the Croatian striker according to Bild, as he left him out of the squad for Saturday’s cup final. Mandzukic will not be short of offers with Chelsea being among a number of clubs already interested in signing him, as too are Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. Guardiola is keen on signing Chelsea’s David Luiz and a swap deal could therefore be on the cards between the two clubs.
