Chelsea loanee Thibaut Courtois is having another tremendous season at Atletico Madrid and is on course for Spain’s top goalkeeper award. The ‘Zamora’ trophy is given to the keeper who concedes the fewest goals in La Liga in a given season and the young Belgian is currently ahead of Real Madrid’s Diego Lopez and Barcelona’s Victor Valdes. Atletico have the best defence in the league having conceded just 21 goals, second placed Bara have conceded 25 while Real Madrid have let in 30. Los Colchoneros are surpassing all pre-season expectations this campaign as they currently sit top of the league with just nine games remaining. As well as the goals of Diego Costa, much of that is down to the work of Courtois at the opposite end who has kept clean sheets in over half of his league matches, keeping the score to-nil in 15 out of 29 La Liga games. Courtois has been linked with a move back to Chelsea next season but is also attracting interest from numerous top clubs in Europe due to his performances.
