Cesar Azpilicueta stated that Chelsea’s 0-0 draw at the Vicente Calderon in the first-leg of the Champions League semi-finals is a good result for both sides and denies that his team were too defensive. Chelsea played a closed game which saw them have just 31 per cent of possession and many were critical of Jose Mourinho’s defensive tactics. Azpilicueta admits that his side’s performance on the ball was far from what they would have liked but denied the accusation that his side ‘parked the bus’. “I had admit that when we had the ball we didn’t use it like we wanted,” the Spanish international told Onda Cero. “We haven’t lost which is always hard at this stadium, many big teams who have passed through here have not done well. ”The former Osasuna player reiterated that the goalless scoreline gives both sides a chance for next week’s meeting at Stamford Bridge. It’s an open result. It’s a 0-0, we haven’t managed to score an away goal. It’s clear that if they score away then we have to win or win. At the end I think it’s an open result. ”
