Chelsea are planning to offer Thibaut Courtois a new and improved contract before allowing him to spend another season on loan at Atletico Madrid. Courtois, 21, has made over 100 appearances in La Liga for Atletico after spending the last three seasons on loan at the Vicente Calderon.googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(“div-gpt-ad-1389116196215-0”); });The Belgian stopper joined Chelsea in 2011 for 5 million from Genk, but was immediately loaned to Atletico to gain experience. He is seen as the long term successor to Petr Cech at Stamford Bridge, although recent reports suggest Courtois might favour a permanent move to Spain. Recent interest from Real Madrid has been described as nonsense sent to destabilise the club by the player himself, but they refuse to go away. As a result, according to AS, the Blues are preparing to offer the Belgian anew deal and then allow him stay yet another season at Atletico. Courtois’ deal at the Bridge expires in 2016 and the Blues will not want to put themselves in a position whereby they might lose the player for free in two years.
