Arsenal and Liverpool are set to be joined in the race for Feyenoord defender Stefan de Vrij by Chelsea. The Gunners have been tracking the Holland international since January, while Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is also a known admirer. De Vrij’s leadership skills resulted in him being made captain of the Dutch national side for the first time recently, as his reputation continues to rocket. Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho wants to add another centre-back to his squad especially with David Luiz preparing to leave for Paris Saint Germain, with the club looking at the Dutchman as a possible target. A Liverpool source confirmed their interest in the 22-year-old with Rodgers anxious to bolster his leaky defence. The player is likely to cost around 11m.
