Mega-rich Monaco will look to out spend Premier League rivals Manchester United and Liverpool for Real Madrid’s out of favour Fabio Coentrao, [football] direct news understands. Coentrao has struggled for regular game time this season under Carlo Ancelotti, with the Italian not convinced by the Portuguese. The full-back did turn in a solid display this week during Real Madrid’s 1-0 Champions League semi-final first leg win over Bayern Munich, but Real are still actively looking for replacements with Ashley Cole on the short list. Inter Milan are also in the hunt after making contact with Coentrao’s representative Jorge Mendes over a possible summer move but Monaco are ready to blow their rivals out of the water with a mega bucks offer, European football sources have revealed.
