Former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez is keen to make a summer move for Lucas Leiva, according to Tuttosport. According to Italian press, Benitez is keen to make contact with his former club about the availibility of Brazilian midfielder Lucas as he looks to bolster his midfield options. The former Reds boss is already closing in on Lyon midfielder Maxime Gonalons, but remains keen on bringing 27-year-old Lucas to Napoli aswell. The Brazil internatinal suffered with a ligament injury in February but has since returned to play an important part in Brendan Rodgers’ Premier League title campaign. However, it is understood that Jordan Henderson, currently suspended is a preferred option for Rodgers and that a substantial offer from Benitez could tempt the Northern Irish coach into a sale.
