French side AS Monaco have indicated Benfica boss Jorge Jesus as a possible replacement for Claudio Ranieri. Some reports across French media have indicated that Italian coach Claudio Ranieri is hopeful to receive a new contract offer from big spending Monaco, yet others state that he will be replaced this summer. Ranieri has guided the Reds and Whites to a successful first season back in Ligue 1, but has failed to push rivals Paris Saint Germain for the title, resulting in the Parisien side classed as champions at the weekend. And, the likes of Real Madrid assistant Zinedine Zidane, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger and Barcelona’s Tata Martino have all been linked. However, it is now understood by RMC that Benfica boss Jorge Jesus is high on the list of potential candidates to replace the former Chelsea man. Jesus has guided Benfica to a Primiera Liga title this season and could seal an impressive double if the Portuguese side can beat Sevilla in the Europa League final.
