Bayern Munich are reportedly set to allow left-back Diego Contento to leave the club this summer, according to Infoticker.ch. The 23-year-old has not managed to establish himself as a regular in Pep Guardiola’s side this season, and is said to be attracting interest from Serie A outfit Napoli as the summer transfer window approaches. Bundesliga sides Werder Bremen and Hertha Berlin are also mentioned as possible suitors for the former German Under-20 international, who has found himself behind the highly impressive David Alaba in the pecking order. Contento has been at Bayern for his whole career so far, coming up through the club’s youth ranks before making his first-team debut back in 2010, but has only made 69 appearances in total since then. Despite the presence of Alaba as first-choice at left-back, Bayern have also been linked with Fenerbahce star Caner Erkin in recent times, which would further push Contento out of the first-team picture. Napoli have been linked with a number of players in that position as well, and may now have been alerted to Contento’s potential availability.
