Xherdan Shaqiri is still interested in joining Manchester United despite public declarations he is happy at Bayern Munich. The Swiss international insisted recently he was happy at the Allianz Arena despite finding opportunities hard to come by. “I never said that I want to leave Bayern Munich,” Shaqiri had said. But despite his comments [Football] direct news understands he is likely to move if he is offered the chance of regular football. “While [Shaqiri] is keen on staying at Bayern he needs regular football which could spark a move,” a German football source said. United and Liverpool are keen to land the player but know he could cost as much as 30m if he does leave the German champions. Shaqiri, who has only made 15 Bundesliga appearances this term with just eight coming from the start, has Arjen Robben, Franck Ribery, Toni Kroos, Mario Gotze and Thomas Muller all ahead of him in the pecking order.
