Barcelona could try to sign Manchester City target Willy Caballero from Malaga this summer, according to Fichajes. net.
The Catalan giants are known to be on the lookout for a new goalkeeper this summer as they prepare to face the exits of key pair Victor Valdes and Jose Pinto, and have been linked with a whole host of big names to replace them. Borussia Monchengladbach youngster Marc-Andre ter Stegen is widely believed to have been snapped up already by Barcelona, but they may move for Caballero as well to give themselves two good options in that position.
The Argentine was strongly linked with City last summer after former Malaga boss Manuel Pellegrini left the club to move to the Etihad Stadium, and he could still be a target for the Chilean as doubts remain over the future of Joe Hart. City may still be the favourites to land the 32-year-old if Barcelona are handed a transfer ban by Fifa, though they are hopeful of winning their appeal and continue to plot their moves for this summer’s transfer window. Caballero, who has also been linked with Atletico Madrid, has made over 100 appearances for Malaga since joining the club in 2011, and has become widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in La Liga since then.
