Barcelona have confirmed the signing of German keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen. The Catalan club have been linked with Marc-Andre ter Stegen since the turn of the year, prompted by Victor Valdes’ decision to move on and call time on his Barcelona career. No official announcement was made, despite numerous reports that contract terms had been agreed between the La Liga club and Ter Stegen’s representatives. But, following the announcement that Luis Enrique will take the reigns at Camp Nou next season, Barca officially announced that Ter Stegen will be the club’s number one keeper. The 22-year-old played an important part in Monchengladbach’s sixth place finish, conceding just 43 goals in the Bundesliga.
