FootballDirectNews.com understands that Real Madrid have rejected a 42m for Angel Di Maria submitted by Arsenal. Arsenal’s nine-year wait for a title came to an end on Saturday when they beat Hull City to seal the FA Cup and it is understood that boss Arsene Wenger is now ready to bolster his squad and push on from that triumph next season. Wenger is keen to add another attacker to his squad, hoping to provide competition and help for French striker Olivier Giroud. And, it has been heavily mentioned that his desire to make a move for Angel Di Maria would come to head one way or another this summer. Di Maria has been in superb from this season for Madrid, playing in a slightly deeper role, but still managing an impressive 22 assists and eight goals in his 36 appearances. And, FootballDirectNews.com understands that a first bid of 42m has been submitted by Arsenal but rejected by Real Madrid.
Madrid are unwilling to sell the Argentine winger for less than 45m and it is expected that the Gunners will submit and new and improved bid in the coming days.
