Arsenal are reportedly the favourites to sign in-form Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette for around 8.3million, according to Fichajes.net. The 22-year-old has been one of the stand-out young players in Ligue 1 this season, scoring 15 goals in all competitions so far, as well as providing three assists. The Frenchman’s fine form has seen him attract plenty of interest in recent months, with other Premier League clubs such as Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur also interested in him, as are Serie A clubs Juventus and Roma. However, Arsenal now appear to be stepping up their interest in the player, who looks to be available on the cheap this summer as his contract is set to expire in 2016, with no sign that he is about to renew his deal with Lyon. This could see the French outfit cash in on him now, and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will be delighted to bring in another young player of great potential for a decent price as he seeks alternatives to Olivier Giroud upfront. The Gunners have been heavily reliant on Giroud’s performances this season, with the likes of Nicklas Bendtner and Yaya Sanogo providing little in the way of backup.
