Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen is still yet to decide where his future lies despite having several offers from Italy. Vermaelen has struggled for game time this season and has been considering his future at the club. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger did use Vermaelen more towards the end of the season, though often only in the left-back position. Inter Milan, Roma and Napoli are understood to be at the front of the queue to land the talented star, while Manchester United are pondering a move. The 28-year-old only has a year left on his contract and would cost around 12m with his wages likely to be 3m a year.“Many Italian clubs have shown an interest,” the player’s agent Alex Kroes had told La Repubblica. “But we’ll have to wait until after the World Cup to discuss Thomas’ future.”Read more Arsenal transfer news.
